Willow hill Borderdoodles
What is a Borderdoodle? A designer cross between a border collie and a standard poodle. Why? Border collies are well known for their intelligence, loyalty, train-ability, and desire to please! Turn on your tv for 5 minutes and you will see a border collie featured in many of the commercials that pop up. Why the standard poodle? The original notion for crossing poodles with other breeds in general is the benefits of their curly non shedding coats, and the cute scruffy or teddy bear-like appearance they produce. But what many people don't realize is that the standard poodle is not the frufru, yippy, entitled breed you have imagined. They are actually the number 2 breed for intelligence after the border collie, and you will not find a more versatile or affectionate, companion! Combining these two breeds is a no-brainer, I'm amazed it has taken this long for this cross to gain popularity.
All About Us
Hi, I'm Jessica Rollins! I will be taking over Willow Hill Border doodles as Emily Howard retires from 8 years of breeding. I currently work for Emily at her primary business as a pet stylist, and have for about 3 years now. I'm passionate about dogs and about this amazing cross. I have already produced 2 amazing litters with my Willow Hill Borderdoodle, Ula, and am so excited to introduce our new Willow Hill Border doodle and future mama, Fiona (from Menace and Pippen). . We are located near beautiful Madison County Virginia where my dogs and pups are a part of my family and are raised inside my home!
Why Willow Hill Borderdoodles?
These are not backyard science experiments or accidents. I have researched, planned and teamed up with other amazing owners and breeders both near and far, to be able to form the most ideal parent pairs, producing the most fabulous additions to your family! My focus is health and temperament! You will notice that all of our parent dogs are fully health tested for all hereditary illnesses associated with their breed (you can view their individual profiles on our hunks and gals pages). Because of my background as a vet assistant, you can be sure these pups are raised correctly; pups leave for their new homes at 8 weeks of age having been de-wormed every 2 weeks, and having a full health check (by a licensed Veterinarian) and all age appropriate vaccinations. They will also be well socialized and started on potty training. Did I mention all of our pups come with a 2 year health guarantee! If a congenital or hereditary defect is discovered by your vet we will refund or replace your puppy! - Emily Howard

Worried your borderdoodle might require too much exercise, or may herd your children? We intentionally choose border collies from agility lines rather than working lines...working lines have much higher "Drive".
We are in Virginia just 45 minutes north of Charlottesville and about 2 hours south of DC. Visits by appointment only.
